'Tis the Season

It is hard to believe that it is already holiday season.  Hannukah begins this week and Christmas is in two. Wow! For me time has flown. If it were a normal year, I would be running around fighting my way through the crowds of holiday shopping just to find those last few elusive gifts. However, it is not a normal year and the holiday season looks very different. We have been told to not travel unless absolutely necessary and to avoid shopping inside crowded places. This time of year is meant to be ‘Holly and Jolly” and spent with loved ones. It has been difficult to find that joyful spirit that is rooted in this time of year.

This year it is especially important to find that ‘Holly and Jolly” feeling in the things we are able to experience. Take time, sit down and think about what are the things that fulfill you and give you warmth inside. It can be something as small as making your bed every morning or baking cookies. Even as it gets colder outside maybe take a walk in the crisp winter air. With everything in the world being so chaotic it is important to take time out of your week to implement some self-care. Filling your week with self-care can help balance out of the chaos going on around you.

As the holiday season tip-toes closer remember to take a second to find the things in your life that make you Holly and Jolly.
