Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Anjana Khosla | she / her / hers

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a deep passion for working with people from diverse backgrounds.

I believe every human being deserves to be seen and live in a way that brings about peace, self-love, and a positive self-image. This can be difficult when immersed in rigid cultural systems, exposed to trauma, and dealing with intense emotional pain. Extrinsic influences about gender, ethnicity, nationality, physical and mental capabilities, sexuality (and much more) can leave so many people questioning their own existence. In the face of this, daily living itself can feel like a challenge and leave a person feeling isolated and alone. My hope is to provide you with the support we all deserve to live as fully as possible.

Knowing your worth is the backbone of living a healthy, authentic, and fulfilling life. I strive to support you in integrating all aspects of your identity in a way that is in alignment with your personal values so that you can explore what brings you joy, define what success means to you, and create an all-encompassing definition for health.

My interest in the therapeutic arts began at age 14 in 1997, when I volunteered to spend time with elderly clients in an assisted living facility (Manor Care Nursing in San Jose, CA), providing residents company every Saturday throughout the entirety of high school. While obtaining my undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science at University of California San Diego, I volunteered at Ronald McDonald House for Children offering comfort and support to families with terminally ill children. In 2012, while I was working as a Research Associate at Kaiser Permanente (Santa Clara, CA), I volunteered as an advocate with the YWCA SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) and decided that my true calling was as a therapist. From there, I began my journey through graduate school, followed with experience as a MFT Trainee at Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments and Associate MFT at Family and Children Services.

Upon my move to Nashville, TN in 2019, I participated in Yoga Teacher Training (from 2019 to 2020) at Sanctuary for Yoga. I incorporate this knowledge, when applicable, into my therapeutic practice by engaging clients in the natural calming of their nervous systems (self-regulation) using breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, and intentional movement.

I hope that whatever brings you to this page, you feel a sense of safety. I believe we all have an inherent birthright to exist in peace and that is what I strive to support my clients in achieving in their minds, hearts, and ultimately their lives
